Electrical services in Austin and Central Texas

One licensed, family-owned team for the electrical work that keeps your home and business safe. We find the cause, explain your options, and give you a flat-rate price before the work begins.

How it works

Find the problem, then flat-rate pricing

Magnify Electric covers residential and light commercial electrical work across Central Texas, from a single flickering circuit to a full service upgrade.

When the cause of a problem is unknown, a licensed electrician troubleshoots to find it for a diagnostic fee and runs a complimentary 54-point safety inspection. From there you get clear, flat-rate pricing for any repairs so you can decide. For known installs and upgrades, you get the flat-rate price before the work begins.

What we work on

The systems behind your power, and what fails in each

Most electrical problems trace back to one of five places. Knowing which one is half the job, and it is why we diagnose before we quote.

The service panel

Breakers that will not reset, double-tapped circuits, corroded lugs and obsolete Federal Pacific or Zinsco equipment. This is where overloads and heat damage show up first.

The service entrance and meter

The mast, meter base and conductors that bring power into the home. Storm damage, undersized 60 or 100 amp services and loose connections live here.

Branch wiring

The circuits running through your walls. Aluminum branch wiring, backstabbed devices and open neutrals cause flicker, warm outlets and intermittent power.

Devices and outlets

Switches, receptacles and GFCI and AFCI protection. Worn devices, ungrounded two-prong outlets and missing protection in kitchens and baths are common finds.

Lighting and controls

Fixtures, recessed cans, dimmers and smart or Lutron controls. Incompatible dimmers, flicker and failed drivers are the usual culprits.

Chris and Caden did a great job of installing a dedicated circuit and outlet for us. They were very thorough in checking out the existing circuit outlets and also patient with explaining everything before starting. I appreciated especially the quality of their work, their professionalism, and their willingness to throw in extra work where they saw fit at no charge. In short, I couldn’t be happier about the job they did.

Chris and Caden were awesome - they installed an entire new main panel and a new subpanel very effectively. We knew exactly what to expect at every step in the process, and now everything is up to code! If we need any additional electrical work, we will absolutely call Magnify Electric.

Trayvon is such a professional. He answers any and all questions. Does an amazing job in whatever is needed, and you’d never even know he had been here as he tidies up impeccably. He is our family’s electrician. I’d give 10 stars if able!

Felt lucky to have found Magnify Electric. Christian fixed the issue we were having with our hardwired smoke alarms, installed a whole-house surge protector, and fixed a longstanding light switch issue. He did everything with excellence and efficiency. He did a great job of communicating throughout the process. Thanks so much!

FAQ

Electrical service questions, answered

What electrical services do you offer?

We handle residential and light commercial electrical work: panel upgrades and repairs, troubleshooting, wiring and rewiring, EV chargers, surge protection, interior and outdoor lighting, recessed and automated lighting, Lutron systems, ceiling fans, switches, outlets, TV and home theater wiring, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and portable generator hookups.

How do you decide between a repair and a replacement?

We troubleshoot to find the cause, then show you the options. If the equipment is sound and only a part has failed, a repair is usually enough. If it is obsolete, undersized or unsafe, we explain why a replacement is the better value. You get clear, flat-rate pricing for each path so you can decide.

Do you work on both homes and businesses?

Yes. Most of our work is residential, and we also serve light commercial clients such as offices, retail spaces, and medical and dental offices with service and repair, equipment installs and LED retrofits.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Magnify Electric holds TECL 29321 and TX Master License 269417 and is regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. All work is completed to the current National Electrical Code.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Spicewood and serve Austin and Central Texas, including Lakeway, Bee Cave, Dripping Springs, Marble Falls, Georgetown, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and the surrounding lake and Hill Country communities.

Do you charge for a service call, and do you offer financing?

For a problem of unknown cause there is a troubleshooting fee to diagnose it, then we give you optional, flat-rate pricing for any repairs. Financing is available on qualifying jobs, so a larger upgrade does not have to wait.

Do you pull permits and handle inspections?

Yes, for work that requires it, such as service changes and new circuits. Depending on your address that may be a City of Austin or a county permit, and we coordinate the inspection and any utility work with Austin Energy, Pedernales Electric Co-op or Oncor.
